Sika Everbuild Brand Transition

As you may know, Everbuild became part of Sika in 2013, and continued to run as a subsidiary of sika for a number of years before being merged into Sika in 2023. As a result the Everbuild brand is slowly being phased out with products being refreshed or replaced.

The Origins of Everbuild

Everbuild was founded in 1994 in Leeds, UK, by entrepreneur David Seymour. Over the years, the company built a strong reputation in the professional trade and DIY sectors, becoming one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of sealants, adhesives, and construction chemicals.

The brand became particularly well known for innovative and widely used products such as:

  • Pinkgrip grab adhesive
  • Stixall all-purpose adhesive and sealant
  • Wonder Wipes cleaning wipes for tradespeople
  • Forever White sanitary sealant

These products helped Everbuild establish itself as a trusted supplier for builders’ merchants and trade professionals across the UK.

Sika’s Acquisition of Everbuild

In June 2013, Swiss construction chemicals giant Sika AG acquired Everbuild Building Products Ltd. The deal brought one of the UK’s largest independent manufacturers of sealants and adhesives into Sika’s global network.

At the time of the acquisition, Everbuild generated over £60 million in annual sales and employed around 270 people, making it a significant player in the UK construction supply chain.

The acquisition provided clear benefits for both companies:

For Sika

  • Stronger presence in the UK distribution and merchant market
  • Access to established trade channels and brand recognition
  • Expansion of its sealants and adhesives portfolio

For Everbuild

  • Access to Sika’s global research and development capabilities
  • Investment in manufacturing and innovation
  • Greater international reach and support

Initially, Everbuild continued to operate as a subsidiary of Sika UK, retaining its identity and management while benefiting from the larger organisation’s resources.

Integration and Strategic Alignment

Following the acquisition, Sika began gradually integrating Everbuild into its broader product and technology ecosystem. This integration included:

  • Shared research and development
  • Expanded manufacturing capabilities
  • Alignment of product technologies and formulations
  • Integration of distribution networks

Despite these internal changes, the Everbuild brand remained prominent for several years, particularly within the UK builders’ merchant sector where it had strong recognition among tradespeople.

This approach allowed Sika to maintain customer loyalty while leveraging Everbuild’s established market position.

Legal Integration into Sika

A significant milestone occurred in January 2023, when Everbuild Building Products Ltd was fully integrated into Sika Ltd as a single statutory organisation.

This step marked the formal consolidation of operations between the two companies, bringing manufacturing, distribution, and administration under one unified structure. Production continued at the Leeds manufacturing facility, alongside other Sika sites across the UK.

The move strengthened Sika’s ability to serve both trade contractors and merchant customers with a wider portfolio of solutions.

The Brand Transition Programme (2024–2027)

Following the organisational integration, Sika announced a phased brand transition programme running from 2024 to 2027.

The aim of this programme is to gradually bring the Everbuild product range under the Sika brand umbrella, aligning product identities with Sika’s global brand strategy.

Several well-known products have already begun this transition, including:

  • Wonder Wipes
  • PinkGrip
  • StixAll
  • Forever White
  • Multistick

These products now appear within the Sika family of products, with updated packaging while retaining their familiar names, formulations and performance characteristics.

Some products have multiple versions appear for example:

  • Everbuild 506 Contractors PVA
  • SikaBond Contractors PVA
  • Feb Contractors PVA

These products have been amalgamated into 1 product, in this case, a refreshed SikaBond Contractors PVA, using the best preforming product and bringing everything under the Sika branding.

Other items have been re-designed completely to better integrate their brand identities, and showcase some products lesser know features, these include:

  • Everflex 450 Silicone – Now SikaSeal Construction Silicone Ultra
  • Everflex 125 One hour Caulk – Now SikaSeal One Hour Caulk
  • Everflex 175 Acrylic Sealant – Now SikaSeal Mould Resistant Caulk+

These are the same high quality products you’re used to, just with a fresh new look.

Conclusion

The transition of Everbuild products to the Sika brand represents a long-term strategic evolution rather than an abrupt change. Since Sika acquired Everbuild in 2013, the two companies have gradually aligned operations, technologies, and distribution networks.

With the current 2024–2027 brand transition programme, Sika is bringing Everbuild’s well-known products fully into its global portfolio while preserving the performance and reliability that made them popular with tradespeople.

Ultimately, the integration combines Everbuild’s strong UK heritage with Sika’s global innovation and resources, positioning the company as a leading supplier of construction chemicals and building solutions for the future.
